I'm feeling Lovecraftian

Just a quick note about the newest entry, I received the newest entry, Lovecraftian Tales from the Table today. I haven't had a huge amount of time to poke through it yet, and this one is going to take a while. The amount of content is immense.

On it's surface it's a beautifully done DVD that uses an html interface to access everything from the two epic Call of Cthulhu actual play recordings that are on the disc, as well as a ton of other interesting content. Game PDFs, audio and video interviews, and even audio recordings of some of Lovecraft's works. The interface itself is fantastic, atractive, and well laid out, and while I haven't had a chance to listen to the content yet I have high hopes for it. It's put together by the people over at Yog-Sothoth.com, and I've really enjoyed their work in the past.

Now I'm off to listen, I'll likely post more thoughts in a few days when I've picked my way through everything.

Are the Ennies still basically a D&D/D20 promotion or have 'Other Game Systems" moved out of the special category ghetto?

What's the point? You know WotC will get nominated for everything and win, unless the Paizo fanboys pull off a miracle. It's the same folks every year, for the most part.

The awards have very little credibility left, IMO, due to their shoddy practices.

This year it's been decided to forgo a separate d20/OGL category for the first time, so at least as of now it doesn't look like there will be a break down of the Best Game category.

I'm interested in why you think Best Game is a lesser award to the Best d20/OGL award of years past? They were designed to cover different materials, but I've never seen one as less important than the other. What is it about the award that you didn't like?
